Chek Jawa

This is my second trip to Chek Jawa.

I still remembered, during the first trip, how me and my friend got lost in Pulau Ubin and how we walked for more than 1 hours (up slope and down slope and up slope and down slope and... well you should get the idea...) to only reach Chek Jawa after the tide had rise.

This time round, we choose to take a cab to the place and follow a tour. We got to see Chek Jawa at its lowest tide and not to mention quite a few animals :) Below are some photographs taken during the trip: the place and some of the animals sighted.

Place
Chek Jawa is a beautiful place. Looking down from the observation deck gives a great view of the shore.

According to the guide, there are more than 10 species of sea glass in Chek Jawa.

Animal
Upon reaching, the wild boar family came out of the forest in hoping of getting food from the visitors.

The piglets are so adorable X)

This is my first time seeing male laced woodpecker. We had just descend from the observation deck, I heard a tu-tu-tu sound and headed back, just when the guide shouted in excitement: there's a woodpecker!!

There are a lot of species of crab (as expected from mangrove, rocky and coastal habitats).

These two fiddler crabs were just fighting and retreated into the burrow when they sense movement on the boardwalk.

We also see some corals and anemones...

Baking

Every baking session is a gamble.

Last time, my mum give me one container of sugar which turned out to be salt.

This time round, I didn't have enough self raising flour and she gladly let me use the flour in the cupboard.

It turned out to be corn flour... ...

Nevertheless, the cookies still turns out fine.

Souvenir

Souvenir from Hong Kong:

From oOOo When I am free oOOo

From oOOo When I am free oOOo

I had always want a jelly fish soft toy from HK's Ocean Park after seeing what my friend had.
Though this is not the exact one, I still love it!

Thank You, Ah Ying.

How are you?

To whoever might be reading this blog... How are you?

I know I should be apologizing now. I keep saying that I want to update this blog but never really managed to. Somehow, time seems to be moving too fast for me. And sometimes, when I want to blog about something, I keep thinking of past entries I should be updating first and only to find out that when you lost the feel of some event, you lost the passion to blog about it as well.

Right now, I'm still deciding on what to do with this blog-- shall I continue? Or stop blogging? Or open another blog to signal another phase of my life? I really don't know. On one hand, I feel that (when reading entries in this blog), these are all in the past and I'm the different YunLe from when I'm managing this blog. On the other hand, I can't bare to close down this blog, as it represent a part of my life.

Before I decided what to do with this blog, I guess I should just have a quick update about myself here. I have graduated in July this year with Honours and am currently working in Singapore Food Industries (SFI) as Quality Assurance Executive now. Work have been going smoothly thus far (with some exceptions) and I have been getting along well with most colleagues. So you can say that I'm rather lucky to settle down so fast after graduation =)

Counting Down: 10

10 more days...

Today, I brought my mum and her friend to Botanic Garden.
Okay, more like they brought me there because her friend drove...
We were trying to locate Botanic Garden on street directory...
So we flip to Parks--> Places of interest --> B

But, it was not there!?!
It took me a while to recall that it's SINGAPORE Botanic Garden instead=.=

There is supposed to be having some Chinese New Year decorations in the Orchid Garden:
Colours of Spring

...

Yeah, a few red stuffs here and there
with mostly the same orchid
Nevertheless, it was good to walk around sometimes =)
I miss going for birding session,
and I wonder whether my Yy managed to take any photographs of birds in Germany?

Here are some of the photographs taken:

We enter through the car park to the visitor center,
and were greeted by 'the colour of spring' (so fast?!?)

It was quite depressing actually...
I decided to bring my mum there as I think she will feel bored with Yy in Germany.
Throughout the walk, she called me 'Ah jie' a few times...
That was what she uses to call Yy T.T

And...

I have a bad news...

I...

I... ...

I brought another soft toy!!
I keep telling myself that I had pass the age, but...

...
