Birding @ Chinese Garden 2

Continued: The non- bird photographs!!

Apart from taking photographs of birds, Lele also took some photographs of flowers, insect and animals!!

Yellow Flower. We had our breakfast beside these beautiful flowers. Zx prepared bread, eggs and luncheon meat for us^^ Lele likes this flower, it looks simple yet elegant...

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Red Flower. Like the effect of the blur background (Lele did not edit this photograph!!) There was one white and orange butterfly + some bees hovering around these flowers, but Lele wasn't fast enough to capture them. Lele guess the flower must have many nectar...

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Lotus. First time Lele sees yellow colour lotus. Likes the very slight tint of yellow of the lotus, very special in Lele's opinion.

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Tortoise. Somehow, they are always looking at the same direction. Lele also don't know what they are looking at... The second one was trying very hard to climb up the rock...

Fish. Someone was feeding them bread and the fish are fighting for them!! There's some tortoise in the water too. They are too slow in snatching the bread...

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Butterfly. It is very tedious to ID butterfly as the butterfly in the same family all looked the same to Lele.

Bumble Bee. Giant and stupid looking. Lele always told Yy that they are harmless but she's still afraid of them. Lele feels that they are slow and retarded... (Lele= bad bad XP) This bee was flying everywhere and then stopped on the nose of the stone mice.

Plantain Squirrel. Lele's favorite!! Lele always thought that squirrel looked 贼 when they explore their surrounding.

Birding @ Chinese Garden 1

Yes, finally going to blog about the birding session last Sunday!! Yy and Lele wake up at 6:50 and set off to Chinese Garden at around 7:30. Yy and Zx debated as to meet at 7:00 or 8:00. Lele choose 7:30 so that we can catch some of the sunrise^^

The very first bird that we saw was the Litter Egert. It was later joined by a Grey Heron... Yy wanted to walk along the road because it was faster and more direct. But Lele wants to walk inside the park so Lele can take photographs... So, Lele nag and nag and nag at Yy to walk into the park. At least it wasn't a wasted trip.

Wahaha-------!! It feels so good to use the Fx18 Lumix camera... Zoom, zoom, zoom (18 times wor). Then we saw some Rock Pigeon... The red one was turning in circles!! Yy told me that it is one of the phenomena that she learnt before... That pigeon thought food will be given if they turn in circles and psychologists performed some conditioned test on them to observe... Evil psychologists!!

Finally made it to the Chinese Garden... Lele like pagoda alot!! We didn't climb up this time as both Yy and Zx kind of hurt their legs and have difficulties climbing down stairs. There was many bird shit the last time Lele went up. Nevertheless, the view was good and Lele would want to climb up again given the chance.

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Yes! It's time for Lele to throw in all photographs again... When Yy and Lele reached Chinese Garden, Zx was already there waiting. The three of us walked around the place, scaring some birds away while other people were taking photographs =P We finally settle on a tree to shoot photographs of birds on the tree...

Black Naped Oriole. Turned out that it's a very 'aggressive' bird. We saw it chased Dove and disturb Squirrel. Lele don't like it le =(

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Magpie Robin. Yy said she likes this bird as the tail is very beautiful... Research reveals a sad story where this bird was almost hunt to extinction in Singapore... Reading some of the characteristics of the bird, Lele falls in love with them too...

"Magpie Robins have a delightful varied song and are said to be able to imitate the calls of other birds. They are sprightly and lively, often cocking their long tails. They are easy to spot as they are not shy and sing from exposed perches. Sometimes, they may abruptly sing in at night!"

Ria Tan, Birds of the Mangroves at Sungei Buloh Singapore, Magpie Robin: http://www.naturia.per.sg/buloh/birds/Copsychus_saularis.htm

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Collared Kingfisher. Lele thinks the Kingfisher looks cool. It flew from one tree to another with three of us follow closely, posed, hopped to the ground, stared at us and finally flew far far away...

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Yellow Vented Bulbul. Lele now believe that this is a common bird in Singapore... We saw many of them in Chinese Garden... Lele also saw them at other reserves, Sungei Buloh and Tree Top Walk... The name is cute... Bulbul!! Lele likes it when they ruffled up.

Yellow Bittern. Tada, it was hunting alone along the shore when Lele spotted it. Took a few photographs then start to walk closer to it to take better ones. Actually, Lele was taking photographs of tortoise before Lele saw it, it camouflaged well along the shore!!

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Unidentified. This looks abit like the Tailorbird but Lele can't really confirm it. All small birds look the same to Lele X_X They are good hopper and do so really fast from branch to branch. This made it difficult to catch them on camera... Yy said that Lele was good to have managed to capture a front view of this bird ^^

From Birding at Singapore Chinese Garden

Pacific Swallow. Death stare... ... *shiver. Lele thinks we were lucky to have it stopped on the lamp post. The swallows were flying in big circles, non stop and we really thought that we were not going to take any photograph of it... But this one stopped at the lamp post just in front of us =D

Lele is tire and shall continue blogging about the birding session tomorrow. Lele still having stomach cramp, accompanied by pain in the joints =( At first, Lele thought is food allergy as Lele's having some symptoms Lele experienced when Lele takes seafood. Mum said is heat stroke...

From oOOo When I am free oOOo

Yeah!! Lele noticed that the previous entry was the 101th so decided to draw something to celebrate!! * Throw confetti.

There's so many things that Lele wants to blog about… Like the birding session at Chinese Garden last Sunday (Yes, last Sunday, so many days have passed!!) Lele just finish looking through the photographs and uploaded them to Picasa on Tuesday... But Lele was so tire that Lele went to sleep after uploading them. Then last night, Lele was having a very terrible stomach cramp so was basically knock out after dinner... Ended up, Lele didn't blog it last night too.

The other day, Zx was saying that Lele haven't been updating <乐在岛津的日子>, so Lele guess Lele have to blog something about work too. Ahh, so busy

Lele wants to thanks all readers of this blog, especially those who posted their comments (Yy, Ade, Sy, Wl aka QAD and Sally)!!

Still Celebrating~

Yes, Lele's still celebrating for birthday!!

Zx treated Lele and Yy to Tao's resturant last night. We got lost on our way there and in the end have to waited for around 30~45 minutes before we were seated. The quality of the food wasn't as good as Lele's past visits and Yy was saying that this might be due to low QC as there was many customer that day. Nevertheless, Lele still enjoyed the meal!!

Thanks for the good (and expensive) meal, Zx!!

The Return to Sungei Buloh

Went to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve again today, with MH, Ir and Fen. As the SBS bus 925 do not drive into the reserve on Saturday, we have to alight at the Kranji Reservoir Car Park and walk in. At the bus stop, we spotted an uncle equipped with his DSLR and both MH and Lele was like: Lets follow him!! (Yeah! Great minds think alike) To our amaze, Ir started a conversation with the uncle, asking whether he was heading to the reserve and that we were too. She even told him that one of her friends (that's me) went there and like it, so was bringing them to the place this time.

From Sungei Buloh

We stopped half way to take some photographs and the uncle was like waiting for us. He was so kind!! Not wanting to let him wait, I signal to him to go on while he pointed out the route that we should take. Continue our way, we were really very slow... In no time, the uncle was out of sight while we were still busy taking photographs of birds we saw on the way.

乱七八糟的坎坷爱情人生路 01

不知道是什么让我们几个20多岁的老女生玩起了角色扮演的游戏来。。。 就在这错综复杂的角色扮演游戏当中, 一个故事就这样诞生了。。。 。。。

Cast

韵: YL
裴: PF
珂: KY
余: GS
婉: WP

---oOOo---

From oOOo When I am free oOOo

Cheer~

Received a message from Gaga on Monday. He say he had something to pass to me for my birthday. I was so touched that he still remembered my birthday. We decided to meet for dinner last night at CityHall.

We shopped at Suntec for Anime stuff (common interest), DVD, CD and toys. Next, he treated me to dinner at Crystal Jade. We ordered one La Mian and other side dishes to share.

From oOOo When I am free oOOo

The meal was good. We were lucky that we reach the restaurant early so that we don't have to queue.

After the meal, we went to Marina Square for another walk walk before we call it for a day. And Gaga gave me my present: A Doraemon soft toy!! He told me that the hands of the toy will move when the leg was touched. I tried to imagine the Doraemon moving its hands in slow motion when I "high five" its legs... It was later when I got home that I take the soft toy out and have a good look... Orh... so is press the "cheer" button on its leg...

From Birthday Celebration 2010

From Birthday Celebration 2010

I like the present very much. (GS say it was a 'Hello Kitty' Doraemon when I told her it didn't have a mouth =.=) But I don't dare to hug it to sleep because I;m afraid that I'll break the parts inside the soft toy which allow it to move.

Really Thanks Gaga for remembering, the meal and the present!
