Weekend Getaway 02
Malaysia trip 19/12/2009- 20/12/2009 Part Two
The second day of the trip was simply more shopping and dinning...

The second day of the trip was simply more shopping and dinning...
1st Stop: Breakfast. We are back at the place we had lunch on the 1st day. This time, I ordered a breakfast set ^^

3rd Stop: Lunch at Secret Recipe. The waiter spoke Malay to us.... I have to use my half forgotten level 1 Malay to try understanding what he's saying... Their pumpkin soup tasted like curry O_O

4th Stop: Movie The Princess and the Frog... I wanted to watch this movie after reading the review on My Paper...

This marked the end of the short trip... It was a bit tiring to travel around after working for 5 days, but I enjoyed it... It brightens up my boring life...

Weekend Getaway 01
Malaysia trip 19/12/2009- 20/12/2009 Part One
The whole family overslept, waking up at 6+ instead of the intended 5+... Lele made a record of packing and preparing within 45 minutes ^^ But I was in such a rush that I forgot my toothbrush =.= There was a small jam at the custom but we managed to reach Malaysia just as fine...
1st Stop: Breakfast!! Dim sum...
The whole family overslept, waking up at 6+ instead of the intended 5+... Lele made a record of packing and preparing within 45 minutes ^^ But I was in such a rush that I forgot my toothbrush =.= There was a small jam at the custom but we managed to reach Malaysia just as fine...

On our way back, we passed by a resting area with some mimosa and dandelion- looked alike. Due to my love for furry stuff, I can't resist and took some photographs...

4th Stop: Hotel to rest. Three of us (me, Yy and Zx) shared a room... The room was very big. Not to mention that we got a nice view from the window ^^

5th Stop: Shopping!! Lele brought a jeans and dvd^^ We had our dinner at Grilling Stone... The price was much more reasonable compared to that in Singapore =P
Ordered fried ice-cream... Not as nice as expected though...
6th Stop: Back to hotel and watch dvd... and turn in for the night.

Monday stand around; Tuesday run HPLC single trail; Wednesday run LCMS batch process; Thursday data analysis; Friday more HPLC.

Monday dismissed at 1723 due to machine broke down; Tuesday at 1800 as supervisor looked at me and asked" we run another trial?; Wednesday at 1730 due to last minute distributed jobs; Thursday at 1700 (Yes!!!!) as they are busy conducting training; Friday at 1730 watching supervisor clicking computer without explaining to me =.=

Expect the Unexpected
First day of work... There's so many things that I expect to occur... yet, the outcome was otherwise... ...
1. I was supposed to report at 0830... Before peak hour which is 0900 (I always thought so)... So, I shouldn't have a problem squeezing into the train and bus all those, right?
Yea right...
... ... ...
It's so scary~~~
I make it into the train today... But I really don't know whether I'm able to do so tomorrow... In fact, I barely made it today... I have to walk down the platform and went in from a door that was "not" so pack just as the door was closing... But I heard that the train come every 2 minutes ... so hopefully it's not as bad as I think...
2. I'm the only person attached to Shimadzu... So I expect I'll alone throughout the whole journey... But guess what? I met ZX at the bus stop.. And his workplace is just opposite mine =D Yes, I start to feel that the day is not as bad...
3. I report at Shimadzu... the receptionist was helping me to call the person I'm supposed to report to... Hmm, the phone has been ringing for a while... Maybe she's away from her desk? ... ... The truth is... she's more than away from the desk... She is ON LEAVE!!!! Just what going to happen to me?!? Luckily, one of my interviewers saw me... If not, I don't know how long I have to wait as the receptionist didn't know that whoever she's calling is on leave... So I guess the day can still be considered as okay?
4. I was told to wait at their library... and I waited for... More than one hour... This is definitely not what I expect to do for the first hour of my attachment... Sitting around and reading some of the articles published by the company...
5. Finally!! My supervisor(s) to be came... Yes, I can't wait to do something... Even if it's just preparing solution or disposing chemicals... Yet... Never in my life... have I feel... feel... so useless!! Basically, I'm just standing and watching as my supervisor prepare solutions... Oh no, I got help out in labelling... Yes, I helped to label like 3 containers =.= Hmm, I guess I have to be more patient and wait for them to teach me new skills and distribute works to me...
6. Okay... I knew I'm cursed... It must be because of me... Just my mere presence... Yes, it must be me...
The machine that my supervisor was briefing me about broke down... Who would expect to spent more than 2 hours of your first day of work watching your supervisor trouble-shooting... And talk about the day being... okay... At least I learnt something...

Lele coloured some of the pictures lele drew. mainly the cover pictures for 《乐乐在北京》 and 《乐乐出北京》. I have already replced the pictures of the entries with the coloured versions =D

Lele colour them using Paint... But lele actually preferred Photoshop which is earier to colour and even allow lele to play with the gradient... However, the trial version that lele used last holiday for my header had expiried =.=

How Unlucky Can You Be

Just how unlucky can one person get? Below is a check list... ...
1. If you think that losing a rulre is nothing about luck, what about losing three rulers at one go... At one point I can still "lend you and you and you ruler" and at anothr point, I don't even have one for myself =( To think that I always thought having three rulers was enough to buffer any lost at any point =.=
2. How many a time when you feel that it is going to be a good day, and then some thing happened to prove you wrong? I was happily preparing for school... My sister and I have just decided on the time to leave, together, as my dad is driving us to school... Yes, this is going to be a good day... ... If i didn't break that glass... 落地开花！落地开花阿！
3. After burning a a night of oil, I've finally finish my laboratory report... Wahaha!! I actually finished it within two days, new record!! So, the only thing left to do is to print it out in the school computer area =) Inserting my tumbdrive and opening the folder, I guess it's not a bad idea to just read throught it again before printing... Lala...l..a... I saved the wrong report!!! I'm so proud of myself, I'm almost clam... Almost... NO------!! My whole night of effort! And now I can't hand it in on time ><

4. I was waiting for the lift to go up to my laboratory at level 6... Both lifts came ^^ All the other people waiting for the lift went into the first one, so I decided to take the second one alone... The door of the lift takes a long time to shut so I don't want to stop at too many level... Yeah... the door took a l--n--o--g time to shut... I'm almost lost my patient... Just as it started to close... it... opened again... And a group a people came in. They pressed the button for level 3 and 5... So much so for my plan of going to level 6 straight away =.= The worst had yet to come... The lift ascended up one level and opened at level 2.. Now what? another person came in and... and... she pressed for level 4!! Now I had to stop at EVERY level!!
5. Now, if you think that all the incidents listed are just small cases... what about all of them happening on the same day... I really feel very unlucky on that day... The last day of week 12th of the semenster...
